Approach Angle Adjustment at the Collected Trot

Equipment: 1 barrel, 6 cones or markers

Set up a barrel with cones marking three different approach lines: straight, slight angle, and wide angle.
Collected Trot the approach on the straight line. Note where you enter the turn and how the turn feels.
Collected Trot the slight angle approach. Note the difference in pocket distance and turn shape.
Collected Trot the wide angle approach. This creates the most room for the pocket but covers more ground.
Compare which approach angle gives you the best combination of speed and turn quality.
